zombie prom review by liz perrotta
Truth be told going into see this show I was a bit skeptical as to whether I would like it or not. I had no idea what to expect from it but it seems like it would be very easy to make a play all about zombies corny and unbelievable. What I saw instead was an incredibly talented cast working their hardest, making Zombie Prom a smashing success. This play bursted with amazing energy, which is impressive when considering it has the word zombie in the title. I would like to congratulate Luke Sprenkle. He is a senior and though he has been involved in theater for quite some time this was his first main role and I personally think he rocked as the zombie. The rest of the cast was outstanding as well. Most notably, seasoned professional Claudia Namaroff who gave it her all, not missing a note, as usual. Olivia McNally and Ethan Whitman also provided the audience with comedic relief. They had a very enjoyable and believable chemistry that excited the audience. Lastly, we must not forget about Sam Sklar, who has the rare ability to lighten up every scene he’s in by making the audience chuckle. The entire cast was quite phenomenal and captured the spirit of the show very well. Far from your typical love story, Zombie Prom breathed new life into an old theme. The cast of characters portrayed the tale of Johnny and Toffee, teen lovers, literally from different worlds, in a funny and compelling story. This is a show to be enjoyed by both the living and the undead.
